The timing for new business ventures couldn’t be better with the economy finally looking up. I’m excited about that as I’ve worked in lending and I have investments in private companies. I know from first-hand experience how difficult it can be for small and medium sized businesses to get the capital to grow their business.

Did you know that small and medium sized businesses are the backbone of the Canadian economy, representing the vast majority of business? According to Statistics Canada, 75 per cent of all businesses employ fewer than five employees and 95 per cent employ fewer than 50. The sector contributes 80 per cent of all new jobs in the economy and generates roughly 43 per cent of Canada's economic output. Know that you’re in good company.
